By PBCM Team

The summertime brings new opportunities for new activities. It is always a good idea to change it up and get your body out of its regular habits and push it in new ways. Here we have chosen two different summer sports to compare their benefits and calories burned to see how they stack up against each other. With the intense heat and the need for vacations and getaways, you may tend to neglect your exercise sessions.  After reading the benefits that these fun summer activities offer, you will think twice before skipping that workout!

Volleyball

Benefits:

  • Tones key  muscles in the arms
  • Boosts mental concentration skills and offers a refreshing workout for the mind
  • Keeps heart and lungs in top condition and is great cardiovascular exercise
  • Improves flexibility in your hands and feet

Calories Burned:

Play volleyball to burn calories and benefit from allover body toning. Only 50 minutes of playing beach Volleyball can burn up to 500 calories!

Tennis

Benefits:

  • Improve your balance through all the twisting, turning and quick reactionary moves
  • Mobility, agility, and strength are key skills developed through Tennis
  • With high-intensity points for shorts periods means endurance will be peaked

Calories Burned:

During doubles, players can expect to burn approximately 330 calories per hour. Most doubles matches take from 60 to 90 minutes to complete.
