With five months to go before the opening ceremony of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the Canadian snowboardcross team opened the 2010 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup on a high note on Saturday as Maëlle Ricker of Squamish, BC won the gold medal, followed by Dominique Maltais of Petite-Rivière Saint-François, QC, capturing the bronze medal in Chapelco, Argentina.
